Some examples of CRISP's work

The Strathearn Environs and Royal Forteviot project

The Strathearn Environs and Royal Forteviot project Logo Forteviot was a significant prehistoric ceremonial centre, and has long been associated with Kenneth mac Alpin, one of the first kings of a united Scotland. SERF is investigating the long-term evolution of the wider Strathearn landscape region to explore Forteviot's attractions as a regional centre in such different social and political situations. CRISP is working with the project to rationalise their recording and data storage structures. We are developing a standardised paper record system, digital storage structures, a relational database and GIS for the analysis, interpretation, integration and presentation of the diverse information they are collecting.

Troodos Archaeological and Environmental Survey Project
TAESP carried out an interdisciplinary survey in a 160-sq km landscape in the northern Troodos Mountains of Cyprus, between 2000 and 2004. Luke developed their data recording system in conjunction with project specialists, as well as building and maintaining their relational database. Both he and Sarah worked in the field for the project, recording artefact evidence and producing plans of abandoned settlements. CRISP is now producing GIS maps for inclusion in the project's final publication. Hunterian Museum

Hunterian Museum, Glasgow - Jericho exhibit set up Hunterian Museum, Glasgow - Jericho exhibit Hunterian Museum, Glasgow - Jericho exhibit In 2007 the Hunterian Museum at the University of Glasgow underwent an extensive refurbishment as part of the Museum’s bicentenary celebrations. Sarah was co-creator of a new permanent archaeology exhibition that displays artefacts from the excavations of Professor John Garstang at Jericho, 1930-1936. Sarah created the display, undertaking the background research, selecting artefacts and writing the explanatory texts that now accompany them in the museum.

The work was partly sponsored by the CBRL and an article in which Sally-Anne Coupar of the Hunterian museum discusses the display appeared in the 2008 CBRL Bulletin

North Karnak Survey
NKS integrated a range of survey and archaeolgical techniques to gather data and investigate the topography and chronological sequence of human activities in an area outside the walls of the precinct of the temple of Amun at North Karnak, Egypt. Sarah worked with the pottery analysis team whilst Luke developed the artefact survey methodology and data recording structure.
